## Full job description

**Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)**

**Location:** Iowa
**Work Setting:** Fully Remote
**Employment Type:** Full-Time
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
**Salary:** $115,000–$120,000 per year with full benefits

**About the Role**

We are looking for an LMHC licensed in Iowa to work with adults through telehealth. You’ll meet with clients who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, or changes in their personal lives. Your role is to listen, understand what each client is dealing with, and help them work through those concerns in a way that feels practical and manageable. You’ll also keep your notes current and make sure important concerns are followed up appropriately.

**Responsibilities**

- Meet with adult clients through scheduled video sessions
- Listen to what clients are experiencing and help them identify what they want to work on
- Provide counseling for concerns related to mood, stress, grief, trauma, and life changes
- Help clients find practical ways to manage difficult emotions and situations
- Keep session notes and required records up to date
- Pay attention to changes that may need additional clinical attention
- Respond appropriately when safety concerns arise
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Follow Iowa LMHC licensing and telehealth requirements

**Requirements**

- Active Iowa  LMHC license in good standing
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience providing therapy or counseling services
- Strong understanding of assessments, treatment planning, and documentation
- Strong communication and time management skills
